Five different actors will portray the Queen at different stages in a new docudrama for Channel 4 that will examine five "pivotal years" in the monarch's life.

Samantha Bond, who starred as Miss Moneypenny in the Bond movies, and Lisa Dillon, who recently appeared in BBC1 costume drama Cranford, are the first two actors to be signed up as the Queen, with The Tudors' Katie McGrath set to play a young Princess Margaret.

Episode 1 deals with the 1952 scandal with Princess Margaret.

A world where traditional remedies, such as leeches, oil of earthworm and potions laced with cannabis and opium, held sway. After sampling some of the old ways, the team venture into new discoveries, such as the Malvern water cure, the bronchial kettle for curing coughs, and the invention of Indian tonic water.
