This film's costumes and language is pitch perfect for the time period. The relationship between a working woman and the media and oppressive police force is explores through continuing horrible experiences. In some ways this is a feminist movie, as our heroine is a success who challenges authority, is pushed down and then regains her position through hardship and abuse.
