Sun 9pm The Curious Case of Benjamin Button C4
Whimsical period drama starring Brad Pitt as a man who lives his life in reverse. Born old in 1918 New Orleans we see his journey to the present day. As well as seeing the roaring 20's we get to see America and the world transform from an odd social perspective.
There is a great scene in the film, which has a narration explaining how a series of 'what ifs' result in an accident.

Thurs 9pm: Good Morning, Vietnam on FILM4
This film is in my personal top ten of all time and in my top five history films. I have shown clips from this film to my GCSE and A-Level classes.
Comedy drama starring Robin Williams as the army disc jockey who boosts morale during the Vietnam War with rock 'n' roll and irreverent humour. (15 - 120mins)
There is a great scene where Williams tries to explain the conflict through humour. He succeeds in this effort but in doing so he also shows the futility of the war and the hardship of guerilla warfare.

Friday's Anachronistic Film - Film4 6:45pm - Young Sherlock Holmes
This film is great. It is great family fun and the special effects were amazing for the time, now they appear a little funny but this adds to the charm. I love the Victorian setting and the behaviour of the students within the school. It does show how upper class children were treated and this is often a forgotten part of our education as we focus on working class poverty.

Tues: BBC4 9pm The Viking Sagas
Hundreds of years ago in faraway Iceland the Vikings began to write down dozens of stories called sagas - sweeping narratives based on real people and real events. But as Oxford University's Janina Ramirez discovers, these sagas are not just great works of art, they are also priceless historical documents which bring to life the Viking world. Dr Ramirez travels across glaciers and through the lava fields of Iceland to the far north west of the country to find out about one of the most compelling of these stories - the Laxdaela Saga.
Here we see History and Literature combined in a new way!

Atlantis: The Evidence on BBC2 at 7pm
Did you enjoy the docu-drama Atlantis on BBC1 this Sunday? (Don't forget BBC iPlayer)
TImewatch is back for this repeated special with Bettany Hughes. She examines the real evidence and the possible reasons for this continents disappearance.
I like to think writers and historians of the time and perhaps those after made a simple error in naming it a continent. Perhaps their understanding of land masses or the reading of the text has been misrepresented the whole time.

Weds: Boudica's Lost Tribe: A Time Team Special at 9pm on Channel4
Boudica is revered as one of the greatest female warriors in history. Tony Robinson traces her story and follows a major excavation in Norfolk that may hold the key to uncovering what happened to Boudica's tribe after they were defeated by the Roman army.
Boudica's tribe, the Iceni, used to make exquisite torcs: jewellery that required metalworking skills more advanced than anywhere else in the world; and they left behind some of the greatest treasures of prehistory.
When the Romans threatened their way of life, the tribe dared to take on the full might of the Roman Empire. But the tribe's revolt failed and as Boudica disappeared from history so did the Iceni.
Tony visits Caistor St Edmund, a small English village that 2000 years ago was known as Venta Icenorum. In clear aerial pictures, it appears that the area was a significant Roman town in the heart of Iceni territory.
This Time Team Special asks whether the town was built on top of a tribal centre in order to punish the Iceni rebels, and considers whether imperial Rome simply crushed the Iceni or if Boudica led her tribe to destruction.
