Steven Spielberg's fact-based World War II drama starring Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore and Edward Burns. The amazing sequence of the US troops landing on Omaha beach is graphic, visceral but also truthful. (15-169mins). Good to show the true horror of war.

Great film to deliver the slow end of the space race. You could argue it has been in decline since this event.

2/4 Lucy Worsley does not shy away from the gruesome habits of medieval and Tudor people and the changing attitude towards bath houses and toilets. Some points are fantastic in revealing the real medieval experience.

This Oscar winning blockbuster details the love affair between a poor young artist and a wealthy aristocrat on this doomed ocean liner. (12-195mins)
This film is good for showing the class structure in 1900 after studying the class changes taking place in the industrial revolution.

Steven Spielberg historical drama starring Morgan Freeman and Anthony Hopkins.

This is a very long film and it has a 15 certificate due to the gruesome scenes of torture and murder on the slave ship. View with caution and realise this is recreation of true events and unfortunately history is often dark and unpleasant. (150mins)
